At the May 2nd meeting of the Stonewall Democrats of Austin former State Representative Glen Maxey was elected to be the new President of the Stonewall Democrats of Austin.

Maxey succeeds outgoing President Rich Bailey, who chose not to run for re-election after 5 years at the helm of SDA. Maxey said a key area of focus for the year will be a renewed effort at voter registration and Get Out The Vote drives within the LGBT community.
