Stonewall Democrats of Austin has endorsed  Democrat Celia Israel in the Special Election, House District 50 to replace Rep. Mark Strama who has resigned. The LGBT community of Austin is proud to stand with Celia in this race. The Stonewall Democrats are excited to assist in her and help add another progressive voice for the LGBT community in the Texas House.

Celia has demonstrated a wide understanding of the issues facing our State and has the community experience to be an effective voice for us on education, transportation, health care and economic development. The organization also recommends a vote for the Texas Constitutional Amendments #1, #2, #4, #6, #7, #8 and #9. The group voted to oppose Amendment #3 and #5.
